The Empress of the
Sea is situated in a quiet area on the cliff, overlooking The
Channel. It has excellent views out to sea and is just a few minutes
walk from Shanklin Old Village.
The Empress of the Sea
has just undergone a major refurbishment, bringing the magnificent
Victorian building to the highest standards both inside and
out.
The fifteen en-suite bedrooms all have telephones,
coffee and tea making facilities, and televisions with satellite
channels. One suite comes complete with a formal sitting room, two
televisions and a refrigerator. A room suitable for disabled persons
is also available. Most of the rooms benefit from sea
views.
The public lounge offers a quiet elegance, ideal
for relaxation and reading or "tickling the ivories" on the
magnificent grand piano.
The spacious dining room serves an
extensive breakfast daily and a three course dinner by reservation
courtesy of Executive Chef, Terry Overton. The menu is mainly
traditional British Fare with the addition of American and
Continental dishes for the more adventurous.
In the summer
months a heated outdoor pool and sun terrace is available.
A
warm welcome and quiet luxury await you in the elegant surroundings
of The Empress of the Sea. |
